Purpose in the Face of Helplessness
One of the hardest parts of living far from a conflict is the helplessness — the feeling that there is nothing you can do for the people you love.

At this gathering, that helplessness had somewhere to go. Every box packed was a direct, concrete contribution to easing suffering back home — and for an afternoon, worry was turned into work.
Doing something that counts
There is a particular steadiness that comes from being useful. Our volunteers were not thinking in those terms; they simply wanted to help. But you could see it in the way people worked — focused, unhurried, glad to have a task that mattered between their hands instead of a phone full of distressing news.
From worry to action
For many, the gathering became the place where worry was put to good use rather than carried in silence. The supplies reached patients in Sudan; and the simple act of preparing them helped the people of Belfast carry on. [INSERT: a reflection or photo from this session.]
Every gathering turns donated supplies into care delivered — and brings a community a little closer together.
