About Us
Giving Island is a Northern Ireland-based charity that works tirelessly to help people in Sudan. We provide support and resources to address some of Sudan’s key health issues and empower local people with the tools and knowledge they need to look after their long-term health.
We are an independent charity that is completely funded by donations from supporters who believe in a better future for people living in Sudan. Every penny we receive goes directly towards funding our projects and expanding how many people we reach.
Pure Water
We build infrastructure projects across Sudan that provide rural areas with access to clean drinking water. These projects cover everything from building wells, installing filtration systems, and setting up a pipe network to distribute water as far as possible.
Medical services
We provide healthcare support, medical supplies, and training for healthcare professionals in Sudan’s poorest areas. Many people in poorer and rural areas of Sudan struggle to access or afford healthcare. We provide free medical services for people who would otherwise not be able to pay for healthcare.
Education
We teach people across Sudan about vital healthcare practices, including post-operation care and how to look after their emotional wellbeing after they’ve experienced a life-changing operation. We also train health professionals to provide emotional and wellbeing support for their patients.
