Our Work

Three connected pillars, one humanitarian mission.

1. Medical supply delivery to Sudan

Our principal activity is the collection, sorting and shipment of donated stoma care and urology supplies to patients across Sudan. To date we have delivered the equivalent of around two and a half shipping containers — over 9,000 cartons of supplies — reaching more than 1,000 patients. In our most recent year alone, we dispatched one full container of approximately 2,978 individual units, spanning all major manufacturers including Coloplast, Salts, Pelican, Dansac, ConvaTec and Hollister.

These supplies reach patients whose conditions arise from many causes — cancer, traumatic injury including gunshot and road accidents, congenital conditions, inflammatory bowel disease and post-operative complications — from newborns to the elderly. Our partner organisations fund the shipping, customs and distribution and coordinate local delivery, significantly extending our reach.

2. Clinical training

Training was where our work began. Before the war, we trained nurses and healthcare professionals in stoma and colorectal care across Sudan. Despite the destruction of on-the-ground training infrastructure, we have continued this thread — delivering online refresher sessions for clinicians managing stoma patients in extremely difficult conditions. We intend to rebuild and expand our training programme as conditions allow, including structured materials for independent use by healthcare workers in Sudan.

3. Community in Northern Ireland

The supplies we send begin with people around a table in Belfast. Members of the Northern Ireland Sudanese diaspora gather to count, sort and package donated goods for shipment. These sessions began for purely practical reasons — but they became something more. For a community living through the distress of watching war at home, the act of doing something tangible offered purpose, connection and wellbeing. We now recognise this community integration as a genuine and valued strand of our work, and intend to develop it further.
