For Funders & Partners

A small charity delivering outsized, measurable impact.

The case for support

Giving Island delivers humanitarian medical aid to Sudan with exceptional efficiency. Ours is primarily an in-kind model: donated stoma care and urology supplies, prepared by community volunteers in Northern Ireland and shipped to patients who have lost access through the destruction of Sudan’s medical supply chains. To date we have delivered the equivalent of around two and a half shipping containers — over 9,000 cartons of supplies — reaching more than 1,000 patients.

The model is remarkably lean. In our most recent year, approximately £16,379 of donated goods reached patients, while all shipping, customs and distribution costs — around £4,729 — were funded directly by our partner organisations. Modest support goes a very long way.

Why partner with us

  • Efficient: an in-kind model that turns small cash sums into substantial, tangible patient impact.
  • Proven: a full container of ~2,978 units delivered in the last year alone, through established partners on the ground.
  • Accountable: a registered Northern Ireland charity (CCNI 108514), governed by a board of trustees, with independently examined accounts.
  • Ready to scale: a second container is in preparation, and we are building financial independence so impact can grow.

What your support makes possible

Funding helps us dispatch our next container, reduce reliance on partners who face their own pressures during the conflict, rebuild our clinical training programme, and develop the community wellbeing work that has grown from our packing days in Northern Ireland.

Transparency & governance

We believe in full transparency. As a registered charity, our governance, trustees and financial details are publicly available on the Charity Commission for Northern Ireland register.
